Alpacas are known for their incredible wool: soft, sustainable and luxurious . While similar to sheep’s wool, it’s much softer, warmer, never prickly, and it doesn’t contain lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic.

Alpacas live high up in the Peruvian Andes, where temperatures can vary between -20C at night and +20C during the day. To withstand these extreme weather conditions they were in need of special super powers. Nature provided: tiny airbubbles found inside the fiber of the wool. Air is the world’s most perfect isolation material. This is what makes a 100% alpaca wool sweater stand out from the crowd. It will keep you warm and simultaneously supports your body to breathe.

Alpaca wool is easy to wash. Regular washing makes the fabric even softer over time.

IMPORTANT: Wash cold or set your machine to its wool program (up to 20C). Lay down to dry (preferably on a towel) and comb with a special wool brush to create the best results.

When your sweater reaches retirement. It will happily compost itself back to earth.

Organic cotton has the advantage of being produced in a land free of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and defoliants; being different from conventional cotton.

Conventional cotton is one of the most polluting crops in the world, contributing with 25% of all the insecticides used in the world and 10% of all pesticides. Many of these have been identified as cancer-producing agents. Most of the plagues develop immunity to these products in a period of 5 to 6 years, this why the companies are forced to develop more powerful and toxic chemicals. All these chemicals endanger the lives of farmers and their families, as well as all the humans that use cotton products, because most of these toxins never are eliminated.

The organic standards do not allow the use of GMOS. Peru has a ban for GMO seeds, which reduces the risk of contamination that exists in other cotton producing countries.

Furthermore, the fact that our cotton is handpicked is a benefit, as it reduces the environmental impact and improves the quality of the product.

ETHICAL PRODUCTION

Our alpaca wool is selected carefully. Guided by ancient customs, alpaca are shear only once a year. The generated wool is then selected by hand. Separating the softest fibers for production. The sweater you now hold in your hand is touched by the hands of many skillful workers. Weaving the ancient knowledge into every piece.

Since the very beginning our employees have a social security, steady income and are able to use leftover fabric for their families.

All alpaca sweaters come in natural colors and are 100% compostable.
